Winter décor can be so cozy and fun... I'm not talking about holiday décor, but post holiday decorating opportunities can truly fill up that January - March (pre-spring) space in your home making it cozy with different textures, pillows, throws and yes you can use some of those alpine flocked trees with white lights to keep a magical winter feel throughout your home. I personally love the cozy winter ski lodge theme. I like to bring a little of the outdoors inside to make clearing away all of my holiday décor a little easier to handle.
I like to ensure that I have throws draped on all of my couches to ensure my family and friends always feel welcome to grab it, and cozy up - it's an invitation to ensure everyone is always feeling "comfortable". I also like to ensure my couches have large comfortable pillows for snuggling. Another nice look is to get a large basket that you can keep in the corner of a room with your throws tucked away but visible for easy access if needed.
Pine and candles. There is something precious and warm about having some faux pine with a candle nestled in the middle that brings a warm feeling and brings a little winter outside look in. I always have some small trees in my home that have warm white fairy lights and they usually stay lit 24 hours a day. The lights represent warmth, hope and positivity.
Here are some of my favorite things to do with fairy lights:
1. String them on my mantel with my season décor to bring a warm focal point to the center of the room
2. String them in lanterns - usually with some greenery & other seasonal décor to illuminate the light that we expect to enjoy from a lantern
3. Weave them throughout my dining room centerpiece to invite you to want to sit and enjoy a meal and conversation - it looks like a place you want to sit and stay awhile
Friends, winter can seem so cold and dreary at times... let this inspire you to make the winter months feel cozy, warm, and positive inside your precious home as you anticipate the warm spring & summer days ahead!
